Digital Asset Libraries – A New World to Discover
The Digital Product is as complex as the real, physical one. Creating it relies on using digital versions of all the components that make up the model and much more. To solve this challenge, Gemini provides all the contributors with comprehensive Digital Asset libraries, that include Creative Assets, Manufacturing Assets and Industrial Assets. By enclosing data about all the resources and activities involved in creating the garment, the Digital Product becomes that unique repository of all information to be used by all the contributors to the garment lifecycle, which also enables later processes automation, after the development phase.
Creative Assets
For all the raw materials needed, such as fabrics, trimmings, buttons, zippers, threads, embroideries, etc.

Manufacturing Assets
Gemini is pushing the CAD boundaries from simple pattern making to full digital product development. To get a garment done, it is easier not to start from scratch each time, but to use and combine various resources, like a LEGO® game and to build the product faster and more accurately.
Let’s learn what these resources are, where to find them and how they can help you to develop your products and optimize your business.
FABRICS
Fabrics are the backbone of the entire process, from the moment the designer comes up with an idea for a dress to the moment it is cut, sewn, bought, used and even recycled. It thus makes sense to give fabrics a place in our ecosystem. Gemini offers a powerful fabrics’ library, where vendors list their real products, ready to be chosen for a garment and then purchased. Each fabric is not just a simple image, a 3D texture or any other incomplete description of a textile material but the complete digital twin of the real fabric, including everything you need to know about it when designing, preparing patterns, deciding matching, cutting, labeling, sourcing, etc. From its composition and texture, calibrated color, all the way to compressed thickness, mechanical behavior, thermal insulation, etc., all the data is there. Using the Mobile Fabric Scanner, you can also add your own fabrics to the library, even for ad-hoc purposes, such as fueling a 3D simulation, previewing fabric matching on a product or automating the process in nesting and in the cutting room.

ZIPPERS
You are one click away from a hyper-realistic library of zippers, matching the precise offering of the top well-known vendors on the market. When used in a model, each zipper will automatically trigger all the appropriate sewing operations, will add to the raw material inventory and cost spreadsheet and will contribute to the realistic 3D simulation.
You can fully express your creativity in choosing the zipper types, bands, sliders and pullers, within the range of the real commercial offering of each vendor.
BUTTONS
The hard thing about buttons is to find the right one among tens of thousands of available designs, materials and colors. Gemini’s button library provides smart search tools allowing you to look for the perfect button applying various criteria such as trending colors, similar designs, categories, materials and finishing, etc.
Once used in a model, the buttons will be automatically added to the procurement list, will trigger sewing operations and will contribute to the cost calculation.

THREADS
Apparel means sewing and sewing means threads. Just like fabrics, threads are defining our industry and every step in the garment lifecycle.
When building your digital product, you can declare each manufacturing element, each seam, decorative stitch, buttonhole and so on. They all need threads, which can be found in Gemini’s thread library, organized by fineness, color, composition, vendor and strength.
Gemini knows the intimate structure of any type of stitch and knows the length of each seam. Adding the thread information allows for a full automation of the downstream process, from choosing the right sewing machine to precisely knowing the quantity of thread needed and providing the best photo-realistic 3D rendering of the sewn product.
TRIMMINGS AND ACCESSORIES
Everything you need to complete a garment for aesthetic and functional purposes is here. You can find a wide collection of items provided by various vendors, with full physical, visual and commercial descriptions. You can also add your own items and immediately use them in your designs, while sharing them throughout your organization.

DIGITAL DECORATIONS
Embroideries, laser engravings, and digital prints are the cherry on the cake when it comes to leveraging your creativity and creating elaborate products. As digital assets, they are not simple images but real CNC machine files or high-quality printable content. You can create and manage your own assets for digital decorations and make them available in the public section of the platform. Once used in a product, these resources will contribute to the photorealistic level of the 3D simulation and will also trigger all the manufacturing operations needed to execute them, by outputting the corresponding machine files.
Manufacturing Assets
For the equipment used in the production phases, such as sewing machines, spreading and cutting equipment, etc.

Industrial Assets
When designing a product, it is not only about how it looks and what’s inside it, but also How It’s Made. Using Creative STUDIO, you also get the perfect tools to design each step of the manufacturing workflow, from cutting to sewing and finishing. All this is based on various equipment, which can be found in the libraries of manufacturing digital assets.
The digital twins of sewing machines from well-known brands, of button machines, cutters, spreaders, etc. provide a full description of each product, including their corresponding supported operations, speed, operating costs, and consumables, etc.
Simply drag & drop a manufacturing asset available as public content, to build your own equipment resources for the sewing or cutting room or add new equipment to the library if the one you use is not listed.
Every time you add a new seam, the software will automatically recommend the appropriate sewing machine and will indicate the type of stitch which can be performed.
With Planner EXPERT, you can totally automate the planning in the cutting room, get instant costs and optimize the process, by retrieving all the data referring to your cutting room equipment. From paper consumption to minutes of labor and time to cut, it will all be there, automatically feeding the calculation.
Industrial Assets
For the standardized body dimensions and anthropomorphic data sets, body avatars, industry standards for seams, stitches, manufacturing timing, etc.
Industrial Assets
How about having access to all the standards and knowledge needed to prepare the products by the book? How about easily sharing this information with your newcomers and fresh graduates, so their work can be based on an accurate technical approach?
The industrial assets provide you with all the standardized resources and elements needed to create a garment, as recognized by fashion professionals and regulators.
STANDARD BODY DIMENSIONS
The values might be different from country to country for each brand, but there is a standardized way by which each body dimension is retrieved, how it is named and used. Gemini provides you with this list and thus lays a solid foundation for the entire development process, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the garment’s highest quality, to better fit the consumer.

STANDARD SIZE SETS
When preparing a product for a certain country or brand, it is critical to get access to accurate anthropometric data and size mapping used locally. Gemini facilitates the contact between providers of such data sets and the users, through a marketplace where you will be able to find the content you need for your next project.
You can also create and store your own size sets, reinforcing their use for the brands and markets you serve, making them available to all the contributors in your team, from the designer to the pattern maker, QA engineer, size & fit coordinator, merchandiser, etc.
STANDARD SEAMS AND HEMS
Having access to a rich repository of digitized standard seams and hems enables you to automate the cost & consumption calculation, the seam allowance definition and sewing machine allocation. It also provides you with photo-realistic visual simulation, together with all the parameters needed to be set and passed to the manufacturing floor.
STANDARD STITCHES
A harmonized collection of standard stitches, as defined and used by the sewing machines providers and the professional associations, enables you to get an accurate thread consumption calculation and a realistic 3D simulation, to allocate the right type of sewing machine and to define and pass all needed instructions for sewing.
