Creative Assets
For all the raw materials needed, such as fabrics, trimmings, buttons, zippers, threads, embroideries, etc.
Gemini is pushing the CAD boundaries from simple pattern making to full digital product development. To get a garment done, it is easier not to start from scratch each time, but to use and combine various resources, like a LEGO® game and to build the product faster and more accurately.
Let’s learn what these resources are, where to find them and how they can help you to develop your products and optimize your business.
FABRICS
Fabrics are the backbone of the entire process, from the moment the designer comes up with an idea for a dress to the moment it is cut, sewn, bought, used and even recycled. It thus makes sense to give fabrics a place in our ecosystem. Gemini offers a powerful fabrics’ library, where vendors list their real products, ready to be chosen for a garment and then purchased. Each fabric is not just a simple image, a 3D texture or any other incomplete description of a textile material but the complete digital twin of the real fabric, including everything you need to know about it when designing, preparing patterns, deciding matching, cutting, labeling, sourcing, etc. From its composition and texture, calibrated color, all the way to compressed thickness, mechanical behavior, thermal insulation, etc., all the data is there. Using the Mobile Fabric Scanner, you can also add your own fabrics to the library, even for ad-hoc purposes, such as fueling a 3D simulation, previewing fabric matching on a product or automating the process in nesting and in the cutting room.

ZIPPERS
You are one click away from a hyper-realistic library of zippers, matching the precise offering of the top well known vendors on the market. When used in a model, each zipper will automatically trigger all the appropriate sewing operations, will add to the raw material inventory and cost spreadsheet and will contribute to the realistic 3D simulation.
You can fully express your creativity in choosing the zipper types, bands, sliders and pullers, within the range of the real commercial offering of each vendor.
BUTTONS
The hard thing about buttons is to find the right one among tens of thousands of available designs, materials and colors. Gemini’s button library provides smart search tools allowing you to look for the perfect button applying various criteria such as trending colors, similar designs, categories, materials and finishing, etc.
Once used in a model, the buttons will be automatically added to the procurement list, will trigger sewing operations and will contribute to the cost calculation.

THREADS
Apparel means sewing and sewing means threads. Just like fabrics, threads are defining our industry and every step in the garment lifecycle.
When building your digital product, you can declare each manufacturing element, each seam, decorative stitch, buttonhole and so on. They all need threads, which can be found in Gemini’s thread library, organized by fineness, color, composition, vendor and strength.
Gemini knows the intimate structure of any type of stitch and knows the length of each seam. Adding the thread information allows for a full automation of the downstream process, from choosing the right sewing machine to precisely knowing the quantity of thread needed and providing the best photorealistic 3D rendering of the sewn product.
TRIMMINGS AND ACCESSORIES
Everything you need to complete a garment for aesthetic and functional purposes is here. You can find a wide collection of items provided by various vendors, with full physical, visual and commercial descriptions. You can also add your own items and immediately use them in your designs, while sharing them throughout your organization.

DIGITAL DECORATIONS
Embroideries, laser engravings and digital prints are the cherry on the cake when it comes to leveraging your creativity and creating elaborate products. As digital assets, they are not simple images but real CNC machine files or high-quality printable content. You can create and manage your own assets for digital decorations and make them available in the public section of the platform. Once used in a product, these resources will contribute to the photorealistic level of the 3D simulation and will also trigger all the manufacturing operations needed to execute them, by outputting the corresponding machine files.
