How does CutCOLLECT work?
Gemini CutCOLLECT comes with a full pick-by-light drop-by-light system, with configurable scenarios and rules to fit later stages in manufacturing flow. This complete integration dramatically reduces the errors in parts handling and storage, providing a solid infrastructure for just-in-time production and mass customization. The application helps to collect the cut parts by highlighting the next piece or the next group of pieces to be collected and by printing the corresponding label for them. Gemini CutCOLLECT is developed for any automatic single-ply or multi-ply cutter with a conveyor table.

Pick by Light can easily be configured to add performance and efficiency and is ideal for high-speed sortation processes. The functionality is as simple as it is intuitive and as fast as it is self-explanatory: the pieces to be collected in the current collecting step will be highlighted and colored according to the colors set for each user. Depending on the pieces dimension, on the depositing surfaces (BDO and/or SDO), the location where the pieces must be placed will also be highlighted.

The calibration procedure consists in adjusting some parameters from the software application so that the operations performed by the cutting machine can be executed according to the required precision parameters. The calibration parameters are saved by the software application in configuration files called calibration files, in the Topography folder.
The procedure of calibration is applied at the first installation of the system when the current calibration is no longer functional and certain precision and functionality errors occur or when some hardware modifications are being performed in the system (the equipment is being replaced, or its physical position is modified), when the cutter origin is modified.

The collecting process it is made in function of the collecting strategies. A strategy gives the method for calculating the groups of pieces as an input for the collecting process. Also a strategy can specify the output during the process – output on the pieces, output on the storage area, output on the display monitor, output on the printing labels, etc.
